The new unit is equipped with diagnostic and digital video monitoring and is staffed with epileptologists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, neurosurgeons, speech therapists, social workers and researchers.
Blanca Vazquez, MD, director of clinical trials in the Department of Neurology at NYU Langone Health and head of the epilepsy program in Brooklyn, said NYU Langone-Brooklyn opened the new unit to address the “immense” need for epilepsy care in community.
