The 161,000-square-foot hospital will house 36 acute care beds, two operating rooms and a C-section room.
The hospital will be on a 40-acre site in the upscale Ballantyne neighborhood.
It is expected to open in 2023.
The Charlotte City Council approved the project, which included rezoning the site for development, on Jan. 21. State regulators had already approved the plan.
