The USDA approved a $25 million loan through its Rural Development program, and an additional $2 million loan to purchase equipment for the new facility, according to an announcement from the hospital.
CMH has outgrown its 64-year-old building, and sought to build an updated, larger facility, according to CEO Michael Harvey. “We could not be more excited about receiving the financing approval for a new facility. This will allow CMH to continue its investment in the Syracuse area and continue serving the patients in our area for generations to come,” he said in a statement.
The board is now moving into the conceptual planning phase, and hopes to break ground in spring 2017. If the plan goes according to schedule, CMH expects to open the new building in fall 2018.
