Methodist South begins ICU renovations

Memphis, Tenn.-based Methodist South Hospital, a subsidiary of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, started renovations to its 16-bed ICU, The Daily News reported.

Improvements include expansion of patient rooms, a family area with sleeping space, additional windows, automatic temperature adjustment in rooms and eight nurse stations, each overseeing two patient rooms.

The renovation is part of a larger $8.7 million expansion of Methodist's emergency department and updates to its first floor and birthing unit.

The facility will operate during renovation with completion expected in 15 months.
