Mercyhealth completes 1st phase of $505M hospital campus

Janesville, Wis.-based Mercyhealth completed the first phase of its $505 million expansion project in Rockford, Ill. Feb. 2, according to CCS Difference.

The regional hospital and medical campus will be home to a women’s and children’s hospital, which will have a perinatal center, neonatal intensive care unit and trauma center, according to WIFR TV.

Hospital officials plan to move about 135 patients from the Rockford-based Mercyhealth-Rockton campus to the new facility, Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center-Riverside, based on the technology the new facility will offer. All NICU patients will be transferred to the Riverside campus.  

The Riverside campus facility is scheduled to open Jan. 5, 2019.
