The hospital has signed an $8.6 million financing package with Arvest Bank. That financing package will pay for most of the project, with the remainder of funding coming from hospital revenue and donations to the McAlester Regional Health Center Foundation.

MRHC plans to begin construction toward the end of 2016 for the new 24-room, 21,000 square-foot emergency center. The emergency center will create more space for patients and their families, as well as physicians and clinical staff. It will also include features for treating multiple casualty victims, chemical exposure patients and other specialized rooms, hospital officials said.
