Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital expands operating suite in $15M makeover

Hamilton, Mont.-based Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital is renovating its operating room suite after receiving a $15 million bond issue through the Montana Facility Finance Authority's Master Loan Program, according to a Ravalli Republic report.

The 24-bed hospital outgrew its current operating suite, said Adam Gill, executive director of MFFA.

"This financing will allow it to better serve the region with access to advanced technology, equipment and a growing number of surgeons," Mr. Gill said, according to the Ravalli Republic.

The loan program provides small hospitals with access to low-cost capital financing, which can lower the hospital's debt.

"This allows us to obtain a low interest rate to allow for the expansion of our facilities that we might otherwise not be able to finance," Donja Erdman, CFO of MDMH., told the Ravalli Republic

The hospital aims to use the financing to build three fully-functional operating rooms, an additional room dedicated to performing cesarean sections and space for a fourth operating room.
