Lima (Ohio) Memorial Health System opened a healthcare center for uninsured and Medicaid patients on its campus, The Lima News reported.
The center — called Community Health Services — is accepting patients no matter their income or healthcare coverage. Based on family size and income, a sliding fee scale is offered. Patients in the 100 percent poverty bracket with $24,300 annual income for a family of four may not see a fee.
A large number of residents using the emergency department for primary care attributed to CHS opening at Lima, according to the report. The center employs two providers and accepts traditional Medicare, Medicaid and Medicaid managed care plans and self-pay plans.
