The expansion increased the ED from six to nine rooms, added a space for a triage room, a negative pressure room for immunocompromised patients and a safe room for mental health patients. In total, seven rooms were either renovated or added.

Lakewood Heath’s ED expansion is part of a $30 million development project that will also renovate Lakewood Health’s Pillager Clinic and construct a new MRI suite in Staples.
