Several hundred people, including hospital administrators, clinicians, community members and elected officials, attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new building Tuesday.
The renovation — which was two years in the making — is the first of a two-phase hospital renovation project. The Cherry Hill campus was built in 1960 and had not undergone a significant modernization project since, according to the report.
The second $200 million phase of construction is slated to begin later this year. It will include a new acute care hospital and all single-occupancy patient rooms.
