Ortho Urgent Care, located inside Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute in Leawood, Kan., will offer extended hours to treat patients with lower-acuity injuries. The center expects to treat mostly fractures, sprains, torn ligaments, bruises and minor lacerations, according to the article.
“Offering urgent access at night and on the weekends when orthopedic injuries are likely to happen is not only convenient for patients, but also more cost-effective than visiting the emergency room,” KCOI Medical Director Joseph Waeckerle, MD, said in an official statement.
The urgent care center is slated to open Nov. 1.
