Greenville Health System, Clemson University partner on nursing, research building

Greenville (S.C.) Health System and Clemson (S.C.) University partnered on a $31.5 million, 78,255-square-foot collaborative research building to be housed on the health system's Greenville (S.C.) Memorial Medical campus, according to the Daily Nurse.

The institutions broke ground on the Clemson University Center for Nursing, Health Research and Innovation building Jan. 30. Officials expect the building to open in 2018.

The organizations plan to use the building to expand their joint bachelor of science in nursing program from 352 students to roughly 800 students in the next six years. The program aims to help reduce the state's nursing shortage, according to the article.

The financial terms of the agreement, if any, have not been disclosed.
