Froedtert Hospital proposes $43M hospital expansion

Increasing occupancy at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, Wis., has prompted the hospital to propose a $43 million, four-story addition to its Center for Advanced Care, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The currently eight-story Center for Advanced Care opened in October 2015.

Froedtert Hospital's occupancy rate is over 85 percent annually, placing it among the highest in the state, according to the report.

Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin, the regional health network to which Froedtert Hospital belongs, submitted a proposal to the Wauwatosa Design Review Board for an expansion project that would add 165,000 square feet to the hospital. The project is estimated to take two years and would be financed through a bond, according to the report.
