Hospital officials have met with city leaders about the possibility. Florida Hospital told Lakeland it would first build a clinic, and could later expand to a 200-bed hospital if needed, according to the report.
“It was really just a meet and greet for them to do their due diligence and to see if it is the proper market for them,” Lakeland City Manager Tony Delgado told The Ledger.
Ultimately, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration would have to give the OK on any proposed hospital.
