The proposed two-story, approximately 40,000-square-foot community resource center will address the societal issues that lead to poor health for children. It will house the hospital’s primary care office, provide access to hospital programs such as the Center for Child Health and Wellness and serve as a home for kids in foster care.
The pediatric mental health unit will add between 12 and 20 beds to the hospital.
“I am incredibly grateful that as always Dayton Children’s continues to put the needs of children at the center of all we do,” Gregory Ramey, PhD, executive director for Dayton Children’s Center for Pediatric Mental Health Resources, told the Dayton Daily News. “Soon we’ll be able to offer more for those who turn to us in times of struggle.”
