Construction progresses at new Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health is one step closer to completing its new medical center in Mint Hill, N.C., according to The Charlotte Observer.

Here are four things to know.

1. The final structural beam was recently placed on the 150,000-square-foot facility — a milestone celebrated during a recent topping out ceremony, according to the report.

2. Among the community hospital’s features are 24 medical-surgical beds, four intensive care beds and a 16-bed emergency department, according to the report.

3. The project is estimated to cost $80 million and create about 400 jobs, reports The Charlotte Observer.

4. The expected completion date is late next year.
