Cobalt Medical Development plans $20M rehabilitation hospital for El Paso

Dallas-based Cobalt Medical Development is building a two-story, $20 million rehabilitation hospital in El Paso, Texas, to address the city’s rehabilitation bed shortage, El Paso Times reports.

The 57,000-square-foot, 42-bed physical rehabilitation facility will provide hotel-like amenities, according to the report. It is expected to open in December.   

Cobalt Medical Development is a five-year-old company that develops and operates rehabilitation hospitals and senior citizen assisted living centers. It has three rehabilitation hospitals in Overland, Kan., Webster, Texas, and Surprise, Ariz. It is constructing three other hospitals, including the one in El Paso.
