Clark Memorial Hospital breaks ground on new emergency room

Jeffersonville, Ind.-based Clark Memorial Hospital has broken ground on a $5.7 million renovation of its emergency room, according to Louisville Business First.

The renovation will change the layout of the ER in favor of a new "fast track" design that will increase patient flow and decrease wait times. Triage and treatment areas will have more privacy, and the ER will feature a new centrally-located clinical workstation. The hospital plans to implement new patient monitoring and nurse call systems and also install a new HVAC system.

Hospital officials expect the renovation to take between 18 and 24 months, but emergency services will not be affected during the process.
