State data found that more patients are leaving the state’s emergency departments against medical advice, due in part to ED overcrowding.
To address these challenges, Beverly Hospital is expanding its ED, adding 15 beds,
two trauma bays, a new nursing station and a waiting area. The hospital will also add jobs to accommodate the expansion.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment,” said Alice Cheng, president and CEO of Beverly Hospital. “Our community deserves the best care close to home, and we can now provide superior emergency care and shorter wait times for urgent needs.”
The hospital began construction of the expanded ED in 2016.
