BJC HealthCare to break ground on Missouri hospital May 30

Leaders from St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare, the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, city officials and others are scheduled to attend the ceremonial ground breaking of Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, a 77-bed facility in Creve Coeur, Mo., May 30.

Officials said the event will signify the start of construction on the new facility, which will be more than double the size of the existing hospital in Creve Coeur, according to an emailed news release.

The six-story structure will also include four additional medical office buildings and a parking garage.

The ceremony will take place from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, and will include remarks from hospital and city officials.

It is unclear when officials expect to complete construction on the new facility.
