Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital moves forward with ED expansion and inpatient unit renovation: 4 things to know

Construction is underway on the 8,200 square-foot emergency department expansion and inpatient unit renovation project at Aspirus Ontonagon (Mich.) Hospital, according to AOH.

Here are four things to know about the project.

1. Construction began last June.

2. The project includes emergency care rooms; canopied entrances; and updated patient rooms, halls and nursing areas, hospital officials said.

3. The new ED will be complete in January, and the remainder of the project will be complete in March, according to AOH.

4. In addition to the new ED and inpatient unit expansion, hospital officials said the Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital Foundation is leading fundraising efforts in the community to raise $198,000 to support the construction of a new canopied main entrance for the hospital.
