Altru Health System announces $250M expansion

Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System is planning a $250 million expansion, according to Knox Radio.

The project will include a new hospital with expanded clinical services, updated technology and additional space to enhance surgical and emergency room care.

Altru Health System President Eric Lunn, MD, said a structural failure at its main clinic in 2016 presented an opportunity to improve the health system.

"It challenged us to understand how care needs to be delivered long into the future and gave us the opportunity to build on the plans we have in place and to do things that were previously unattainable," said Dr. Lunn, according to Knox Radio.

The design process has already started, although the groundbreaking date has not been set.
