5 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities.

1. Oregon hospital, academic health center to build $50M collaborative care, training facility
Sky Lakes Medical Center and Oregon Health & Sciences University will partner to build a $50 million, four-story collaborative health center.

2. UMass Memorial gets $109M bond for renovations: 4 things to know
Worchester, Mass-based UMass Memorial Health Care has received a $109.9 million tax-exempt bond to help finance renovations at UMass HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital's Leominster campus.

3. Froedtert Health: New 8-bed 'neighborhood' hospital will free up beds at flagship facility
Milwaukee-based Froedtert Health & Medical College of Wisconsin will build the state's first "neighborhood" hospital in Mequon, Wis., to ease capacity constraints at its hospitals.

4. Advocate Aurora Health to build $250M medical complex in Wisconsin
Advocate Aurora Health, a recently merged entity comprising Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care and Milwaukee-based Aurora Healthcare, will build a $250 million medical complex in Mount Pleasant, Wis.

5. Essentia Health plans $800M expansion
Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health will invest $800 million to build a consolidated medical campus in Duluth, which will include a replacement hospital and outpatient surgery center.
