5 hospitals planning facility upgrades, expansions

The following hospitals announced or completed plans in the last week to expand, upgrade or renovate their facilities. 

1. KU Health System to convert former EPA building into $61M behavioral health facility
Kansas City-based University of Kansas Health System purchased a former Environmental Protection Agency office building with plans to convert it into a $61 million behavioral health facility. 

2. Lawrence Memorial Hospital releases details of $93M facility
Leaders at Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital released the details of a proposed $93 million outpatient medical building March 21.

3. Los Angeles hospital furthers $542M expansion plan
Los Angeles-based Providence Tarzana Medical Center received a key approval from the LA City Council's Planning and Land Use Management Committee March 21, bringing its $542 million expansion project closer to fruition.

4. Piedmont Athens Regional seeks approval for its $171M expansion project
Piedmont Athens (Ga.) Regional is seeking approval from the Georgia Department of Community Health to embark on a $171 million expansion project.

5. Dixie Regional Medical Center launches capital campaign for $300M expansion, consolidation project
St. George, Utah-based Dixie Regional Medical Center, part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, launched a fundraising campaign March 16 for its $300 million expansion and consolidation project.
