The 12-story hospital will house specialized pediatric care, labor and delivery services, post partum care, a high-risk pregnancy center, a women’s health unit and a gynecological department.
Patients admitted at the old Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo will be transferred 1.2 miles to the new hospital when it is opened. Hospital officials estimate between 150 and 200 patients will be moved. The most critically ill patients will be moved first.
The tentative date to move patients is Nov. 10 if the weather permits. Two other back-up dates are planned for November.
