VA links up with Nevada's statewide HIE to help improve EHR sharing

The Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with HealthHIE Nevada, the state's health information exchange, to improve EHRs sharing among  providers and VA medical facilities, Las Vegas Sun reports.

Through the collaboration, VA community healthcare providers will have access to patient events, lab results, radiology reports and medications, among other health information, that are recorded by other healthcare organizations.

HealthHIE Nevada expects to begin sharing health records with the VA in July, according to the report.
