U of Illinois Health to replace legacy EHR with $101M Epic system

The Urbana-based University of Illinois Health board of trustees has voted to move forward in the contracting process for a $101 million Epic EHR implementation, the hospital confirmed to Becker’s Hospital Review.

The Epic system will go-live in the fall of 2019, replacing its 20-year-old legacy system.

UI Health selected Epic because it “best met the requirements of [its] [Request for Proposal], which was a combination of technical capabilities and pricing,” a hospital spokesperson told Becker’s Hospital Review.
