Per the agreement, Rush will pay Ochsner to install an Epic EHR, according to Warner Thomas, CEO and president of Ochsner. The new EHR will allow patients to view test results, make appointments and message physicians.

Additionally, Rush will have the opportunity to leverage Ochsner’s billing practices.

“We live in a healthcare environment today that’s very competitive, very consumer-focused,” said Larkin Kennedy, president and CEO of Rush. “This brings a technology to us that allows us to connect with our patients in a way that we’ve never been able to before.”
