Philadelphia HIE expands data sharing services to New Jersey providers

Philadelphia's nonprofit health information exchange HealthShare Exchange is extending its data sharing services to more healthcare providers in New Jersey.

HSX formed partnerships with Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro Township, N.J., and Marlton, N.J.-based Virtua Health's clinically integrated network of practices VirtuaPhysicianPartners.

In 2018, HSX began providing EHR data sharing services to Philadelphia-based Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in three New Jersey-based cities: Cherry Hill, Stratford and Washington Township.

HSX comprises data from more than nine million patients from the greater Philadelphia and New Jersey regions with more than 14,000 providers participating in the HIE.
