Cerner opens on-site wellness center for Missouri labor union

Cerner and the St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council, a labor union in St. Louis, opened the Carpenters Wellness Center Aug. 28.

The new 10,000-square-foot on-site wellness center will serve as a resource for labor union members and their families to receive healthcare and wellness services in the St. Louis area at zero out-of-pocket cost.

Cerner will help operate the center, and the EHR vendor's population health platform HealthIntent will be used to help assist programs and strategies geared toward improving healthcare outcomes for union members. Patients will also be able to manage their health information through Cerner's online health portal, which integrates directly with its EHR software.

The center offers urgent and primary care, certain lab services and behavioral healthcare, among other services. It also includes a vision center, which will offer eye exams and vision care.

Cerner and the St. Louis-Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council plan to open a second wellness center location in Kansas City, Mo.
