Mercy to transition former Ascension hospital to Epic

Following its acquisition of Ascension’s Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kan., St. Louis-based Mercy is rolling out a new electronic health record system at the facility.

A Mercy spokesperson told Becker’s that Ascension Via Christi Hospital currently operates on a Meditech EHR system, but will transition to an Epic system. The transition to Epic is slated for summer 2025. 

The acquisition between Mercy and Ascension’s Via Christi Hospital closed on Sept. 1. 

Mercy, a 45-hospital system, now has three hospitals in Kansas.
