Meditech brings CommonWell interoperability services to Alliance Community Hospital

Alliance (Ohio) Community Hospital deployed CommonWell interoperability services via its Meditech EHR.

Meditech, a contributor member of the CommonWell Health Alliance, is the first EHR vendor in CommonWell to deploy the Argonaut Project's Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources specifications to customers, such as Alliance Community Hospital.

The FHIR specifications will allow Alliance Community Hospital to exchange patient information seamlessly and securely. The CommonWell services embedded directly into the Meditech EHR also includes patient enrollment capabilities and Consolidated-Clinical Document Architecture exchange.

"Interoperability is a cornerstone of Meditech's healthcare IT vision and the deployment of CommonWell Health Alliance services in the Meditech EHR at Alliance Community Hospital is a testament to that," said Lawrence O'Toole, associate vice president of strategy at Meditech and a member of the CommonWell Health Alliance Board of Directors.
