For the report, the health IT research firm interviewed respondents from nearly 70 healthcare organizations who had recently deployed an EMR to better understand whether the consulting firm they tapped for the project met expectations for managing personnel, providing resources and coordinating logistics.

Here’s how nine consulting firms stacked up on logistics and planning prior to EMR implementation. Respondents ranked the firms on a five-point scale, with 1 representing “failed to meet expectations” and 5 representing “greatly exceeded expectations.” The remaining options — 2, 3 and 4 — represented “almost met expectations,” “met expectations” and “exceeded expectations,” respectively.

1. Optimum Healthcare IT (based on 10 customers): 4.7

2. Medasource (based on eight customers): 4.6

3. Emids Technologies (based on six customers): 4.4

4. CSI Healthcare IT (based on 10 customers): 4.3

5. HCTec (based on seven customers): 4.2

5. Leidos Health (based on 10 customers): 4.2

7. The HCI Group (based on eight customers): 4

8. Divurgent (based on six customers): 3.8

9. Nuance (based on nine customers): 3.7

KLAS Research noted respondents expressed support for Optimum Healthcare IT’s effort to collaborate with clients to customize the go-live approach. Medasource, the second highest ranked firm, is known for planning out personnel logistics multiple months in advance and working to avoid excessive costs, according to respondents.
