Cerner helps secure 5,300 new tech industry apprenticeships in Missouri

Cerner served as the lead partner alongside Missouri state and local officials to secure $6 million in federal funds to establish 5,300 new tech industry apprenticeships, Missourinet reports.

More than 10,000 Missouri residents have completed an apprenticeship program, which trains participants to be become skilled in a particular industry or trade through a paid work experience.

The Kansas City, Mo.-based EHR vendor collaborated with the Missouri Chamber and Industry Foundation to get the funding for the new tech industry apprenticeships. There are currently 493 employers who have apprenticeship programs in the state.
