The two organizations will work to develop clinical decision support tools to streamline patient management across the care continuum, including care coordination and post-acute network performance.
“The post-acute network management tools currently available in the market have largely been developed either by non-providers with limited clinical expertise or providers that have not made the necessary technology investments to advance efficient, patient-focused care,” said Mark Tarr, president and CEO of HealthSouth.
Cerner and HealthSouth’s initial collaboration involved the development and implementation of a clinical information system, which went live at 116 of HealthSouth’s 126 hospitals.
