Four notes:
1. As CISO, Mr. Liebert will oversee Cerner’s information security strategy for the EHR vendor’s federal programs and will advance client-facing cyber strategy to make the healthcare of veterans, service members and their beneficiaries more secure.
2. He will collaborate closely with Cerner’s Corporate Chief Security Officer Don Kleoppel to deliver cross-functional capabilities across the Cerner Security program.
3. In addition to serving as commander of California State Guard’s cyber operations, Mr. Liebert has also served as CISO and director of California’s information security office, a senior cyber policy and strategy analyst for U.S. Cyber Command and a cybersecurity analyst in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
4. Mr. Liebert is a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He has an MSc degree in international security from Cranfield University in England, a master of public administration degree from Cambridge, Mass.-based Harvard Kennedy School and a master of science in cybersecurity degree from National Defense University in Washington, D.C.
