Apple continues to aggressively hire for roles aimed at expanding the health capabilities of its devices, intensifying competition for tech talent with hospitals and health systems. 

Health leaders frequently cite compensation as the biggest barrier to competing with companies like Apple, though many say their mission-driven work and organizational values remain a key differentiator.

Here are six healthcare-related roles Apple is hiring for this January:

  1. Senior engineering leader, health software (Sunnyvale, Calif.): Will ensure all features meet rigorous standards for reliability and performance. Salary range: $305,000 and $487,200.

  2. iOS application developer (Sunnyvale, Calif.): Will expand the functionality of Apple’s Health app and other health features on iOS and Apple Watch. Salary range: $181,100 and $272,100.

  3. Health AIML senior research scientist (Santa Clara, Calif.): Will design, implement and evaluate novel user experiences that impact customers’ health. Salary range: $212,000 and $386,300.

  4. Cloud engineer, health software (San Francisco): Will join the Apple Health team focusing on data and backend engineering. Salary range: $181,100 and $318,400.

  5. Platform software engineer – Health (Cupertino, Calif.): Will work with data and machine learning to build and support scalable systems and develop new healthcare applications. Salary range: $181,100 and $272,100.

  6. Health sensing machine learning engineer (Cupertino, Calif.): Will develop machine learning algorithms for health sensing applications. Salary range: $147,400 and $272,100.
