Three things to know:
1. Genesis will use Bright.md’s SmartExam to power telehealth offerings in Iowa and Illinois. The platform guides patients through online medical interviews and sends information to a provider for review.
2. The system also includes clinical decision support to help providers direct the next steps in the patients’ care. The decision support tool covers several issues, including flu, allergies and lower back pain.
3. Although the health system has offered telehealth for the past five years, the pandemic increased utilization and the need for additional capabilities.
