Twitter may charge brands $1K a month to keep verified check marks

Twitter wants to charge brands $1,000 a month to keep their verified gold check marks, tech news site The Information reported.

Social media consultant Mark Navarra tweeted an email reportedly from Twitter asking businesses to join its Verified for Organizations service that costs $1,000 monthly and $50 a month for affiliated accounts and “increases the reach and distribution for your organization and its affiliates whatever you tweet.”

The Information confirmed the details but said the pricing “is being finalized and could still change.” Twitter didn’t respond to a request for comment.
