The National Basketball Players Association named Teladoc Health its preferred virtual care provider through a new multiyear partnership.

The union said July 8 the deal gives active and retired NBA players and their families preferred access to Teladoc Health’s virtual care network, including primary care, 24/7 urgent care and preventive health screenings. The goal is consistent care as players relocate between cities during their careers.

As part of the partnership, the NBPA and Teladoc Health will host a preventive health screening for union members at Summer League in Las Vegas, using Teladoc Health’s VirtualCheckup service. That offering combines health measurements, medical history review and guidance from a nurse practitioner.
