Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health has rebranded hospitals in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky and Texas in 2026, bringing them under the CommonSpirit umbrella.
Here is where the rebrands stand:
Texas: St. Luke’s Health hospitals in the Houston area made the official transition to the CommonSpirit name this week, Scott Packard, Houston market director of communications, confirmed to Becker’s. The system had announced the change in August, along with an expanded clinical collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine. Affected facilities include CommonSpirit — Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center and CommonSpirit — St. Luke’s Hospital locations in The Woodlands, Sugar Land, Vintage and elsewhere. St. Luke’s hospitals in Lufkin, Livingston and San Augustine are also adopting the CommonSpirit name this month.
Kentucky: Lexington-based St. Joseph Health rebranded in July. Its hospitals now operate as CommonSpirit — St. Joseph Hospital locations in Lexington, Bardstown, Berea, London and Mount Sterling, along with CommonSpirit — St. Joseph Medical Center — East Lexington.
Tennessee and Georgia: Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CHI Memorial adopted the CommonSpirit brand in January, timed with the opening of a new hospital in Catoosa County, Ga., CBS affiliate WDEF reported. The hospitals kept the Memorial name as CommonSpirit — Memorial Hospital — Chattanooga, CommonSpirit — Memorial Hospital — Hixson and CommonSpirit — Memorial Hospital — North Georgia.
All three systems became part of CommonSpirit through the 2019 merger of Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health.
The rebrands come as CommonSpirit sells hospitals in Ohio and North Dakota and prepares to consolidate its five regions into three service areas in January 2027.
