Lexington, Ky.-based Saint Joseph Health plans to take on the name of its parent system, Chicago-based CommonSpirit Health.
The eight-hospital network will begin using CommonSpirit branding in July. Saint Joseph Health was part of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives when it merged with San Francisco-based Dignity Health in 2019 to form CommonSpirit. The 24-state, 158-hospital organization has been rebranding its regional systems under the umbrella name in recent years.
“While our signs will change, what will never change is our commitment to building healthier communities, a commitment we share with thousands of CommonSpirit team members across the country,” said Matt Grimshaw, Kentucky market president for CommonSpirit, in an April 29 news release. “Our commitment across Kentucky will continue to be providing the highest quality of care for our family, friends and neighbors with humankindness and compassion.”
The hospitals will be known as:
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital — Lexington
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Medical Center — East Lexington
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital — Bardstown
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital — Berea
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital — London
— CommonSpirit Saint Joseph Hospital — Mount Sterling
— CommonSpirit Continuing Care Hospital (Lexington locations)
