Digital health: Who’s up, who’s down

The digital health market is constantly changing, with startups coming onto the scene and more established companies restructuring their strategies.

Companies that had a good week:

  1. NOCD, a company offering virtual treatment options for obsessive-compulsive disorder, raised $34 million in a funding round that saw participation from Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente and Cigna.
  2. Aluna, an artificial intelligence-powered lung health platform, raised $15 million in a series B financing round.

Companies that had a bad week:

  1. Precision oncology company Guardant Health laid off 7 percent of its workforce.
  2. Oracle Cerner came under scrutiny as Rep. Matt Rosendale introduced legislation to have the VA scrap the rollout of the Cerner EHR system.
