This week in the digital health market, virtual mental health companies laid off employees and a former Mass General Brigham CEO landed a massive haul for his new company.

Companies that had a good week:

  1. Gary Gottlieb, MD, the former CEO of Boston-based Mass General Brigham, launched his new digital mental health company Author Health with $115 million in financing.
  2. Clinical artificial intelligence platform Aidoc landed a new partnership with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health.

Companies that had a bad week:

  1. Amazon’s digital pharmacy PillPack settled controlled substance act violation allegations for $300,000.
  2. Mental health app Headspace laid off 181 employees in its second round of job cuts.
