Time launches COVID-19 dashboard: 5 details

Time magazine on July 28 released a “one-stop dashboard” to track COVID-19 case counts and state comparison among other data being reported across the U.S. and globe.

Five details:

1. The dashboard features data gathered from dozens of sources by Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University.

2. Each day, the dashboard is updated to show the total number of coronavirus cases and deaths both globally and in the U.S. as well as how the numbers have grown compared to the previous day and over the past two weeks.

3. The dashboard also includes a list of every state that has recently reported a new daily record-high number of infections and a list of which states currently hold the largest percentage of new cases in the U.S.

4. While national figures for infections and deaths “might be the most commonly cited metrics, those U.S-wide numbers are largely made up of only a small handful of states,” the report states. “And which states those are has changed repeatedly since the pandemic took off in the U.S. in early March.”

5. The dashboard also presents a map and list of the toll, both in raw numbers and on a per capita basis, of COVID-19 on every nation and sovereign territory.
