Healthcare is No. 3 fastest industry to fix vulnerabilities once discovered

It takes healthcare organizations 20 days on average to resolve a reported computer bug, according to a HackerOne report.

For the report, the cybersecurity company analyzed data from more than 1,000 vulnerability disclosure programs. The report also included survey responses from 1,700-plus "white hat" hackers who have successfully reported at least one vulnerability to an affected organization.

Here are how 11 major industries ranked in terms of how quickly the average organization resolved a reported computer bug:

1. Consumer goods: 14 business days

2. Financial services and insurance: 19

3. Healthcare: 20

4. Travel and hospitality: 31

5. Media and entertainment: 32

5. Professional services: 32

7. Retail and e-commerce: 39

8. Telecommunications: 48

9. Technology: 64

10. Transportation: 65

11. Government: 68
