California governor's office creates Cyber-Health Information Technology Advisory Board

The California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development formed a new Cyber-Health Information Technology Advisory Board.

The board will support cybersecurity innovation and bolster advanced technology industries. They will help identify and communicate the risks and benefits of health IT solutions as well as identify processes to enhance cybersecurity of healthcare technology.

Leslie Saxon, founder and executive director of Los Angeles-bases University of Southern California's Center for Body Computing, will lead the advisory board. Other members include:

•    Chris Tyberg, division vice president of information security for Abbott Medical Devices
•    Amy Tong, director and state CIO for the California Department of Technology
•    Darin Andersen, co-chair of the economic development subcommittee for Cybersecurity Task Force of the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services
•    Bill Britton, vice president of information technology and CIO at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo
•    Wainwright Fishburn, global head of digital health at Cooley
•    John Mattison, MD, chief medical informatics officer at Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente
•    Andrew Thompson, CEO of Proteus Digital Health
