Survey: 5 ways businesses secure corporate data on personal devices

The majority of organizations leverage encryption to secure corporate data held on personal devices, according to a Bitglass survey.

For the survey, the Campbell, Calif.-based IT security company asked 200-plus IT and security professionals at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Fla., about how they protect data on employees’ personal devices.

Here are the top five ways respondents said their organization secures corporate data.

1. Encryption: 75 percent

2. On-premise firewalls: 74.5 percent

3. Mobile device management: 61.5 percent

4. Multi-factor authentication: 57 percent

5. Secure web gateways: 49 percent
