New Orleans-based Ochsner Health plans to raise its minimum wage to $15 an hour, effective May 31.
The increase will affect more than 3,000 employees, according to a March 13 letter to staff from Pete November, president and CEO, and Tracey Schiro, executive vice president and chief people and culture officer.
It applies to all team member groups, including, full-time, part-time and pro re nata employees.
“We are committed to recognizing the value of our entire team fairly and equitably and will continue to review roles over time to ensure differences across pay grades remain meaningful,” the letter said.
The system has prioritized strengthening employees’ financial well-being over the past several years through benefits such as tuition assistance, student loan assistance and parental leave.
Two other Louisiana-based health systems have shared plans to raise their minimum wage in 2026: New Orleans-based LCMC Health and Baton Rouge, La.-based FMOL Health.
