New Orleans-based LCMC Health is raising its minimum wage to $15 an hour, effective April 5.
The change represents a 30% increase and affects about 2% of employees, according to a March 17 health system news release shared with Becker’s. More than 400 employees will see pay increases, primarily in essential support roles across the system’s hospitals and clinics.
“Our people are the heart of LCMC Health, and this increase shows how much we appreciate their hard work,” CEO Greg Feirn said in the release. “By investing in our team, we’re helping their families and making sure our patients get the best care.”
The organization joins at least three other health systems that have raised their minimum wage in 2026 as part of recruitment and retention efforts.
LCMC Health operates eight hospitals.
Two other Louisiana-based health systems have shared plans to raise their minimum wage in 2026: New Orleans-based Ochsner Health and Baton Rouge, La.-based FMOL Health.
